Morning coffee with God

I got home a few days ago from mass as husband was finishing his morning meditation. I think he appreciates that I leave in the mornings to celebrate mass because it affords him a silent moment to enjoy coffee with God. To be quite honest I'm a little jealous of his coffee time with God but this particular morning he was a bit unsettled. So I asked...Turns out his meditation ended with the question ' Do you trust that God knows what he's doing in your life?'
To which I blurted out, 'Hell no!' and husband responded 'Exactly! Now I'm stuck for the rest of the day left to chew on that!'

Hmmm. I can say 'I trust' but there's an incompletion if word doesn't make it to action. The action makes it truly present such as 'The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us', or the son who did the father's will even though he said he wouldn't vs the son who didn't do the father's will even though he said he would.

If I trusted God...
I would worry only about disappointing Him.
Nothing but discerning and doing His will would concern me.
Out of love and devotion I would fear offending Him.
I would be completely dependent on Him.
My attention would always be on knowing, loving and serving Him.
Doing His will in all things would be the only thing that mattered to me.

So indeed, that's a lot to chew on.

For all the arrogant men in the world, Lord please kick them in the ass. Lord hear our prayer.

What is it with me and arrogant men? Men, boys doesn't matter, honestly, I think I attract the male arrogant gender like flies to honey. My husband was once one, and no I wasn't in the remotest sense even attracted to him. I grew to love him in his arrogance and somewhere along the way his arrogance transformed into humility. It's been such a transformation that when he sees it in others HE is repulsed. Arrogance is repulsive. I have yet to meet a sexy arrogant man. What woman goes, 'Oh yeah, I want an arrogant man, that's my dream guy', yeah keep dreaming because that doesn't happen.
Jesus meek and humble was surrounded by the ladies. Why? Because he we admire. He doesn't take anything for himself. Indeed quite the opposite, he gives to the point of dying.

I'm gonna need therapy for that!

Is the most oft proclaimed phase in the PA household. Papa usually says it after I flash him a Peach bottom first thing in the morning when hugging her I ‘accidentally’ pull up the back of her robe when Papa is ‘coincidentally’ in front of us. I used to do it quite often when she was younger but not so much now (ok to avoid the inevitable confession, I did it this morning!).

I seem to recall first hearing the phrase when the baby Peach had a diaper rash and Papa was confounded when applying the zinc ointment. Modesty precluded him from applying the stuff to his baby girl, but necessity mandated it be done. So with one eye closed, head half cocked so he couldn’t see what he was doing, apply the ointment he did. By the time I walked in she was frosted like a cake and relief oozed out of every pore of his body as he first uttered ‘I’m gonna need therapy for that’.
