"I CAN"T FIND MY..."

Usually I hollar (now that's a word I haven't used in a while!) that statement out at least 5 times a week, usually more, sometimes less but it's a recurring statement from me and you can just fill in the blank...
-shoes
-socks
-keys
-purse
-coffee cup
-neck pillow (how do I lose a neck pillow?????)
-brush
-laptop (don't ask!)
-wallet
-phone
-ear muffs
-gloves
-scarf

If I own it, I'm pretty sure I've lost it!

However, this week I lost my January Magnificat. It's my little prayer book that has the daily readings for the month and the ever important 3d edition Roman missal changes (the celebrant and people's parts) so I can remember the words to the prayers and follow along. Having just the people's responses for mass in front of me has not been very helpful to me. I enter into mass so disjointed and it's a distraction for me, and I feel like hollaring "I CAN"T FIND MY PRAYERFULNESS " (and yes I am using that in scrabble - fair warning)

Although I pray along with the priest, I've found I can really enter into the prayer if I indeed follow and throw myself into the prayer (and sometimes I don't necessarily follow along but having them in front of me as a cue to when I'm suppose to chime in = OH SO helpful!!). It helps my prayerful attitude and it allows me to join in the prayer in a deeper way.

Oh and thank you Saint Anthony for retreiving my Magnificat (which my car seat swallowed). It must have been snatched out of my pocket by the un-prayerfullness demons. Thank you for the holy-whappage you gave them and in all honesty I will be super full of prayerfullness the next time I celebrate the holy sacrifice of the mass!

Peachy's pinch-e pots

Seems that Peachy made some pinched pots in her art class. Lucky us now have her 'lovely' pinched pots! Have I mentioned how 'not artsy' I am? When I apply myself, I can appreciate art but even then I miss so much. Perhaps that's why my confessor told me I need to develop that side of me. Eh, crafts are not my thing. I'm so happy for all the crafty moms out there but I ain't one of them. I don't speak that type of mom language and I don't get all gooey looking at her artwork. She however is ever so proud of them.

So this morning when I saw them I asked husband 'What are we going to do with Peachy's pinche (spanish expletive akin to damned) pots?'
So he reminds me ' They are PINCHED pots not pinche pots!'

No, I pretty much think they are what I said they are.

You might be a homeschooler if...

(inspired from a post Papa read but fashioned from PA experiences)
- going to WalMart is a field trip
- shoveling snow is a Phys Ed activity
- writing thank you notes/invitations is part of handwriting class
- you've made/decorated a pinata for a family member's birthday as part of Art class
- in one day you've completed all your school subjects while waiting in the Dr's/dentists office, grocery or hardware store, post office, gym, at church, before music lessons and in the car
- you have to re-do every problem you miss but still keep your initial grade
- you think a permission slip is something a woman wears
- you live in a world where it is perfectly acceptable that your teacher kisses you for a job well done
- every naked inch of you has been used to demonstrate to you proper health and hygiene
- you know more about human sexuality than most adults (and more bible verses too)
- you don’t shy away from a conversation with any adult
and my personal favorite
- if your ten years old and can still be found holding your mothers hand in public!
