Are you ready for some football???

I love football. Football is my life. You play football wif a football on a football field. Check out the skit!

The only problem I have is that I watch football on tv with my spawn around. My choice of language during said football games is a tad colorful. So much so that the Peach pit, well she has a way of raising me that she punishes my foul mouth with push ups, sit ups and burpies. Oh, I hate burpies! It's not uncommon for someone to walk into the house and find me doing push ups because of something I said.

One morning monkeyboy walks out of his room in the morning and finds me doing v-ups with an exercise ball. You with me? If not check out the short video of what v-ups with an exercise ball looks like.

He takes one look at me, in his drowsy morning saunter into the living room and says....
"What did you say that you had to do THAT?"

Notre Dame loses to Bama a

I can't stand Notre Dame. That being said, I was hoping they'd do better than they did last night against Bama. To say the game was dominated by Bama also discounts the mistakes and missteps by ND, Fourth and 5 so they try to go Fourth and fifty.

My absolute favorite thing though is the following standings:

Hee, hee, hee. Ohio State couldn't play in a bowl game but they still beat out ND.

A full moon in Dallas

Did you see the full moon during the Dallas-Steeler's game on Sunday? In my years of watching football, this was a first.

Finally real ref's

So we were in Vegas when the real Zebra's came back to the NFL. I've never been so happy to see real zebra's on the field. It makes my little sports heart go flitter flutter.

I'm so glad they're back. Watching the game and not the ref's was just fabulous. Watching the Brown's implode again was less than fabulous but they have some potential at least. Trent Richardson reminds me of the shrimp, Emmitt Smith.

My sister in law would always yell during the Cowboy games, "Give it to the shrimp! Give it to the shrimp!" which just always made me laugh but Richardson is the first running back that I can honestly say reminds me of the shrimp. I'm looking forward to watching him blossom.

Brownies NFL draft, what were you thinking?

The Cleveland Browns are perhaps a bit too honest and disingenious in places they need not be.

If you didn't hear, the Vikings took advantage of the Browns and they did it hard. They needed protection for their QB, badly. I mean Ponder was getting pounded last year. So they were in talks with many teams to trade their no 3 pick. Seriously, who picks a left tackle that early in the draft even if he's the best rated tackle with the proper pedigree?

The Browns told McCoy they would not pick a QB in the first round, indicating they were solid behind their QB. Honestly folks, lie to the enemy, tell the truth to your allies. If you can't tell the truth, don't lie. So instead of getting word out that they were solid behind McCoy, and interested in protecting him as he suffered a concussion last year with possibly Kalil, who is by far an excellent LT, they caved and sold the farm to move up 1 spot. Would the Vikings have taken the bluff? Everyone knew they were sweet on Kalil and that was the one need they had. Filling that spot is tough to do.

Whatever the case though, the Browns ended up taking a QB with their 2nd draft pick so either they were disingenuous to their QB or they really didn't think it through and plan it out. Ultimately the picks they got were good, but execution of the plan wasn't really that well thought out. My guess is they don't have a woman on the management team. Not that men can't think but my point is in management decisions, men typically "target" think. It's how they were created. Women integrate - it's how we were created. We complement each other and more organizations would benefit from incorporating women in the structure.

Hey, look at the church! We are canonizing 2 more American women as saints this year. They show us how to reach our ultimate goal, and they do it with style!

Peyton Manning, legacy calling...from Cleveland

When a football player looks to his legacy and what he's accomplished over his career certainly he wants to go out having been on winning teams, securing Superbowl visits/wins and be remembered for his contribution to the sport. He wants to inspire future stars by being himself: hard working, focused, commited to be the best version of himself. Is there any greater statement a football player can make than to take a football organization that's been devoid of leadership, experience and winning attitude and turn that organization around. That's the stuff of legends.

Although, to put up with Cleveland Brown fans but more importantly Cleveland Brown sports commentators one has to develop a bit of a thick skin because they tend to be a whiny lot.

Finchicus manliness found on the sidelines!

Virginia tech's backup kicker was sent home on a greyhound bus for violating team curfew rules. Dude! You're in a Bowl game and you go and do something so completely idiotic!?!?!? Violate curfew and there are consequences.
Kudos to Coach Frank Beamer who sent home the backup kicker on a Greyhound bus.

Our Father who art INTERCEPTION!!!

We (and by "we" I mean the monkeyboy and I) were watching the EPSN highlight reel when, praying our communal night prayers with the Peach and Papa (before sending the kids off to bed), I yelled out INTERCEPTION at the WRONG wrong wrong time. Peachy points her chin down and raises her eyes at me, 'Interception? Really mama! Our Father who art interception? You think God likes that???'

Good point Peach, I'm sure God didn't like that interception as much as I didn't. The Cowgirls just couldn't hold on to the football. Did they coat the ball in jelly? The Pat's couldn't keep a grip on it either but sheesh!

For the record, the TV now gets turned off when saying prayers. Somehow I've managed to earn a very bad reputation. ???

The body of ....TOUCHDOWN!

Oh the perils of App girl being a Eucharistic Minister! Typically I have no less than 4 ball games that I'm on top of and now that I have an app that gives me live coverage of football, I'm a little scary. College football, the NFL, hockey, Baseball playoffs and being eucharistic minister.. that's a dangerous combination.

We were watching Ohio State's dismal performance against Michigan State and Arkansas comeback to embarass Texas A&M and I think they heard me screaming in Canada. In my defense I get just as animated over Jesus.
