Pancake Day!!!
Actually I used to hate pancakes mostly because my dad made them like EVERY Saturday and Sunday and sometime in the middle of the week. I got so sick of eating pancakes on Saturday and then being conscripted to help out with the family lawn or vegetable selling business that I just couldn't take one more pancake but after a good long pause from pancakes, my attitude has mellowed.
Monkeyboy was away at a gymnastics clinic this weekend, so we missed him and Papa on Sunday. This morning as I was lying next to the monkey trying to cajole him out of bed I asked what he wanted for breakfast....'pancakes, because we missed pancakes on Sunday'. (Pancakes are a bit of work on a Monday morning and ordinarily Papa doesn't make us pancakes on weekdays.)

However, I thought awww, how sweet. Sundays are usually a special day at our house. We have pancakes or waffles, eggs, bacon maybe or omlettes after mass and by 'we have' I mean 'Papa makes'. So off I went requesting pancakes from Papa because everyone knows Papa will make anything Mama wants. I didn't really want pancakes this morning but my kids did and that was enough for me. We had Sunday breakfast on Monday morning. It was fabulous.Thank you Papa!
And that my friends is our Marian lesson for today. We pray for Mary to help us because she is the Mother of Jesus. She has a special place in His heart and in His kingdom. When we give her our prayers, she polishes them up and presents them to Jesus in a way that is irresistible for Him to deny. He loves her so much. He indulges her and she know what to ask for, how to ask for it and will never fail in acquiring for us exactly what we need.

Only in America: deep fried cheeseburger
Want something to go with that deep fried beer? Why not try the deep fried cheeseburger?
I hope my husband doesn't find out because the next thing I know he'll be lobbying for the deep fried chicken fried bacon sandwich, ick!

Found it!
No not my sanity, my shoe. One was in my gym bag the other was on the porch.
Today I lost my phone, then found it again. Seriously, I'm hopeless. Thank you for the scores of prayers, guardian angels, and saints that keep watch over me. I need it. Really, I'm a mess and I know it!
Dont believe me? Read on! You see I drink coffee, and either I have lost my taste for it or I never really had it... which is probably the case. I drink coffee for the companionship and for the milk content. Living on my own, I see no point in buying milk (or much of anything else I must admit). It's funny but sometimes I get the idea that I really don't know what I like or dislike because I'm a communion type person (Ok, for the record I DO NOT like anchovies. I'm sure! Oh and while I'm on it, I will NOT try escargot. I don't care how much butter you put on snails, not interested. Calamari too. Among other issues, I have a texture issue. Peachy on the other hand loves all that stuff!).
I drink coffee with Hubby because well, I do and I typically go for the latte so I can get the milk. Why not get just milk? Well, I remember the times I'd get a latte with my friends, and it reminds me of that companionship, but truth be told I don't really like the taste of coffee. I tolerate it. So why spend my money on the stuff? (Remember, I'm a mess???) It would be cheaper for me to buy a gallon of milk instead of the latte. Or I could get what I like, TEA. Novel thought!
I think they even have tea with milk. Hmm and I have a PhD! That makes it official. I am a degreed mess!

PancakeBreakfast.org
There's this cool website for Catholics that allows you to find mass times anywhere in the world, uber useful when you travel to other countries or cities in the world. Well now I've decided the world desperately needs a Pancake Breakfast app, or at least I do. When I lived in Rochester, I could singly tell you which churches had pancake breakfast and when. In fact I might have been know to frequent any church that had a pancake breakfast. Pope Benedict XVI preaches unity among Christians, and I was just doing my share of reaching out to any and all Christian denominations. Seriously, I have no shame. It's pancakes folks!
So the local Knights of Columbus held their oh probably 1st pancake breakfast of the year, on the 1st Sunday of Lent! Lent. Seriously, that was painful.
In my spare time(oh, that's funny), I am SO putting together a pancake breakfast app. There's all sorts of churches here, so I should have some success... maybe.
